The Franciscan Sisters of Africa, are presently visiting the Parishes of Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly.  And next weekend 15th / 16th July will visit our Parish and speak at all Masses about their work in Africa and seeking your support.

Killenaule Rising Festival 10th –16th July:

Monster Bingo, Bake Off, Charity Cycle, Street Parade & Field Day, Hurling Tournament, Stage Show and Poker Tournament.  All welcome & volunteers always needed.

The Relic of St. Teresa of Calcutta

Will be in Thurles Cathedral from Sunday 16th July until Tuesday 18th July.  St. Teresa is renowned as a model of mercy and worked most of her life with the poor and homeless in India.  The relic is being brought to every diocese in the country under the care and protection of the Knights of St. Columbanus.

Catholic Grandparent’s Association

On Wednesday, July 26th, the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, a Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles at 7.30pm.  This Mass is to acknowledge the role that grandparents played and continue to play in passing on the faith.  The congregation will be addressed by Catherine Wiley, founder of the Catholic Grandparents Association.

Amoris – Let’s talk Family: Let’s Be Family.

Cardinal Christoph Schonborn, who is Archbishop of Vienna, and was chosen by Pope Francis to present Amoris Laetitia – the papacy’s letter on the ‘family’ – is to address a conference at Mary Immaculate College on July 13th entitled ‘Let’s talk  Family: Let’s Be Family’.  The Conference is a key moment in the build up to the World Meeting of Families 2018.  All are welcome to this conference and there is also a public lecture that evening.

Reek Sunday – 30th July.  The Annual Pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick, Reek Sunday takes place this year on Sunday 30 July.  Mass will be celebrated hourly on the summit at 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm & 2pm.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated from 7.30am – 2.00pm

Fab Fitness, Nutrition & Wellbeing classes are now finished for the Summer Holidays.  I would like to thank all my lovely clients who have made these classes what they are, training for all abilities, fast and effectives classes at a time that suits.  I would like to thank Tyrone & all the lads that keep St. Mary’s Hall in immaculate condition.  I look forward to getting back to class late Aug with loads of new ideas to put you through your paces.  Have a safe & healthy summer – Biddy O Dwyer— 0876410352.
