Blessing for the New School Year

God our Father, you are with us as we begin this new school year, and we want to live as your children.  We want to show your kindness to others and to know your help and strength in all that we do.  Give us hearts ready to love, minds ready to learn about the wonderful world you have created, and hands always ready to reach out to others in kindness.

Through Christ Our Lord.  Amen

Blessing of Schoolbags

Lord, we thank you for your goodness to all your children.  Be with these children throughout this new school year.  May your blessing be upon these schoolbags, which the children will carry to and from school each day.  Watch over the children in their coming and their going; keep them safe always; help them to be kind; bless their learning and their play.  Enfold their learning and their play.  Enfold them at all times in your love. A Summer Prayer –

Father, creator of all, thank you for summer.  Thank you for the warmth of the sun and the increased daylight.  Thank you for the beauty I see all around me and for the opportunity to be outside and enjoy your creation.

Thank you for the increased time I have to be with my family and friends and for the more casual pace of the summer season.  Draw me closer to you this summer. Teach me how I can pray, no matter where I am or what I am doing.  Warm my soul with the awareness of your presence and light my path with your word and counsel.

As I enjoy your creation, create in me a pure heart and a hunger and a thirst for you.

The Journey of Life

Sacred Heart of Jesus

As we journey through life

We face the mysteries

Of love and hate,

Of friendship and loneliness,

Of joy and sorrow,

Of suffering and death.

Sacred heart of Jesus,

Help us believe, in the midst

Of doubt and uncertainty.

Help us to hope, in the midst of hate,

Selfishness and rejection

Amen

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place all our trust in you

One

One tree can start a forest.

One smile can begin a friendship.

One hand can lift a soul.

One word can frame the goal.

One candles can wipe out darkness.

One laugh can conquer gloom.

One hope can raise your spirits.

One touch can show you care.

One life can make a difference.

Be that one today.

Killenaule Juvenile GAA News

U6s had a busy week travelling to Dualla for blitz and meeting Tipperary players Bubbles O’Dwyer and Kieran Bergin.

U6, U8 and U10s hosted Mullinahone with all our teams displaying some great hurling skills.

U14B team won against Fethard 2-5 to 1-4, this win leaves us second in the group with one game remaining against Knockmealdown Gaels.

U16B team had a great win against Kilsheelan 3-8 to 3-7. This was a very tight gamefrom the start with the sides level at half time.  Killenaule fought back in the second half proving they were up for the challenge and securing a one point victory.

U12s and U14’s went on a trip to Dublin for All Ireland Hurling Semi Final. Along the way we played St Oliver Plunketts in challenge games and while the result in Croke Park didn’t go our way it was still a very enjoyable day out.
