7.5.207 VOCATIONS SUNDAY TO BE MARKED IN IRELAND WITH THE LAUNCH OF NEW PRAYER INITIATIVE. Vocations Sunday was marked this year with the launch of a new vocations prayer initiative. 2017 marks 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima. To coincide with the event the Bishops Council for vocations in collaboration with St Joseph’s Young Priests Society, Knights of St Columbanus and Vocations Ireland are asking that on the opening day of the centenary celebrations on 13th May a time of prayer will be held for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life in Ireland. The prayer initiative was launched today (7.5.17) to coincide with the broadcast of the annual vocations Sunday Mass on RTE TV.
